Job Description
The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. He or she will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED (with further technical coursework preferred); at least one year of experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, electrical, and machinery repair; good written/verbal communication and math skills; and the physical ability to perform the requirements of the job. Strong computer skills a plus.
Responsibilities
- Performs preventive, predictive, and other proactive maintenance work scopes for production (CNC equipment) and facility assets
- Conducts predictive maintenance inspections using predictive technologies such as vibration analysis, ultrasonic, oil analysis, and thermography
- Performs work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments on all production and facilities equipment
- Participates in plant safety, health, and environmental programs
- Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed
- Develops, prepares, and presents recommendations and reports as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate a plus
- At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, electrical, and some PLC troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to utilize illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment
- Ability to write detailed repair reports and records activities in the CMMS system
- Must have good mathematical skills, including basic algebra, to calculate electrical/electronic equations as needed
- Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software and the ability to learn how to effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts highly preferred
- Able to stand, walk, reach above shoulder, climb, crawl, squat or kneel, and bend constantly; able to sit, handle/finger, and reach outward frequently
