Job Overview
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team. This position will be responsible for smooth operation through ensuring machines are operating efficiently through preventative maintenance on our laminators, slitters and other various machines that make the operation thrive. This position will also be responsible for Continuous Improvement around the plant as well as fixing machines that need repairs. This position will also have a focus on key metrics for company success such as safety, quality, and compliance with company policies.
Requirements:
Must be able to read and interpret complex drawings and detailed specifications, etc. and carry out complicated written instructions in a safe manner.
Must be able to exercise good judgment and technical skill to plan and perform difficult work when working near power sources and high voltage electricity or when only general guidance is available.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Excellent mechanical skills and knowledge with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong electrical knowledge
Strong welding experience
Some PLC experience
Ability to read plans, wiring diagrams, as well as keep records of calibration.
Ability to utilize software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
Forklift certification preferred, can be attained at LLFlex.
Must be able to multitask
Ability to take initiative
Trouble shoot problems as they arise; strong problem-solving skills
Must be able to pass a drug test
Must be able to pass a physical screening
No theft or larceny in background
Must be able to work overtime when required including weekends

Responsibilities:
Plan, install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain a variety of conveyors, machines, motors, sprockets, gear boxes, saws, chains, pumps, hydraulic/pneumatic cylinders and performs fabrication, welding mechanical and other maintenance skills in order to ensure operation of the plant.
Plan, install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain a wide variety of complex electrical equipment including automatic machine and process controls, control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, electronic controls, tape actuated controls and other equipment involving tube or transistor circuits.
Receives job assignments from the supervisor and lead person, who provide guidelines and priorities for work.
Studies circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair calibrate or replace electronic devices and systems including programmable controllers circuit breakers, fuses, and switches.
Tests faulty equipment and applies knowledge of functional operation of electronic units and systems to diagnose the cause of malfunction.
Repairs and installs motors, motor controls, transformers and generators while using appropriate procedures to ensure safe operation.
Maintains required records of repairs, calibrations, and tests according to guidelines and procedures of the department.
Performs preventative and functional maintenance on production equipment.
Assists with training of other maintenance and production department personnel as directed by supervisor.
Wear protective safety gear as required (i.e., steel toe shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, welding goggles, etc.) and safely perform duties in a high voltage environment.
Complies with all safety related procedures and processes related to exposure to electrical hazards, e.g., lock out/tag out, arc flash hazard, electrostatic hazard.
Use a variety of equipment such as hand and power tools, electronic meters, forklifts, man lifts and bucket trucks in performing duties.
Performs good housekeeping standards as part of the department as required.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
Has range of motion and flexibility – ability to turn head/neck to side (frequently), ability to twist upper body to the side while sitting (frequently)
Manual dexterity/motor skills – Ability to operate fork truck, driving backwards, using mirrors (frequently), ability to operate fork truck equipped with specialized lifting devices
Ability to stand for prolonged periods (> 75% of shift)
Ability to work for extended periods (full shift) in temperatures above 90 F, with variable humidity (seasonal), short periods of time in temperatures exceeding 110 F, when placing loads in trailers (seasonal)
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. occasionally (changing propane cylinders)
