Maintenance Technician - The Fort Miller Co., Inc.
The Fort Miller Co., Inc. has a full time opportunity in our Plant and Equipment Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties which include installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production and facility equipment in accordance with proper safety procedures and industry best practices. Our team of Maintenance Technicians provide critical support of production schedules insuring that customer delivery commitments and production goals are met. Qualifications:
- Proficiency with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including the ability to troubleshoot and repair such systems.
- Solid understanding of electrical and circuit theory, including 3-phase power and AC & DC motors, controls and circuit and the ability to install and repair electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and mechanical prints as well as complex schematics for electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation and control logic schematics.
- The ability to perform basic plant maintenance functions, such as electrical, plumbing and carpentry.
- Understanding of industrial rigging procedures, crane signals and proper use of overhead cranes and hoist equipment.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Ability to withstand exposure to extreme temperatures; visual acuity at short and long distances as well as good peripheral vision and depth perception; lift and carry weights of up to 50 lbs., access equipment at various levels (silos, aggregate hoppers, etc.); push, pull, stand and bend over for extended periods of time.
