About the Job
The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of work related to the general maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, and property.

- Performs repair and maintenance tasks as directed and follows work orders.
- Performs a weekly walk-through of assigned buildings and checks the work order book for entries.
- Addresses work orders in a timely manner; Gives priority to work orders related to safety.
- Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
- Performs preventive building maintenance duties, caulks windows and doors, repairs and replaces broken windows.
- Performs routine plumbing repairs such as unstopping toilets, sinks, or urinals, fixing water leaks, leaking faucets, and water fountains.
- Performs routine electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs or fluorescent lamps and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures.
- Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures and bulletin boards, moves and sets up tables and chairs.
- Basic mechanic repairs and upkeep of company fleets and present concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Emergency Preparedness & Disaster Recovery:
- Perform regular monitoring of fire and alarm systems.
- Ensure buildings are drilled regularly; document all emergency drills.
- Ensure emergency generators are tested regularly.
- Prepare plans of correction related to emergency drills and equipment; ensure corrective action is completed in a timely manner.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years experience in trade or building and/or property maintenance roles.
- Ability to perform repairs and maintenance to ensure the upkeep of vehicles, buildings and grounds, and the efficient operation of electrical, plumbing, and heating, and air conditioning services.
- Experience in the use of machinery, equipment, and hand and power tools commonly required in performing maintenance and repair.
- Skilled in following assembly instructions.
- Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing/preventing hazards.
- Must pass a Background, Drug screening, Physical/DOT Physical and PPD.
- VALID FL Driver's license with a good driving of 3 years.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English (read, write, and speak) with program participants, employees, peers, supervisors, and others.
