SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
A Maintenance Technician is in charge of performing ongoing facility maintenance and completing repairs on equipment. Their duties include fixing machinery, plumbing, heating and wiring, inspecting buildings to confirm safety standards and scheduling major repairs with the building's inhabitants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSGeneral
- Performing routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, for example, window, door, or wall repair.
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures.
- Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs.
- Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly.
- Applying preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems, such as using a sealant on a flat roof.
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
- Painting the building when old paint has become faded or chipped.
- Maintain building operations and ensure that the facilities are safe and functional at all times.
- Identify and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure optimal performance.
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on screen printing machinery.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and maintain workflow.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks to extend the life of machinery.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment condition.
- Safely operate a forklift to transport materials and equipment as needed.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure work environment.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to address maintenance needs.
- Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding equipment status.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs or other drainage problems.
- Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building's electricity.
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
- Groundskeeping if the facility contains lawns or other outdoor areas in need of maintenance.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees or residents of the building in a pleasant manner.
- Attention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlooked.
- Physical stamina to handle a full shift of being active and working on the building.
- Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with screen printing equipment is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
- Certified forklift operator with experience in handling materials in a manufacturing setting.
- Knowledge of forklift safety protocols.
- High attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnoses and repairs.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to learn and stay updated on industry trends.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time, some walking. Employees are regularly required to talk and/or hear. Employees will be expected to repeat much of the physical motions throughout the shift that may include use of their feet, legs, arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers. This work will involve a variety of hand operations requiring a high degree of manual dexterity and close visual attention. The employee must be able to carry and/or lift up to 50 lbs. if needed.
