Job Description
Repairs and maintains mechanical and hydraulic components of production machines and equipment such as metal fabricating machine tools, material handling system, and automated lubrication system by performing the following duties. Will also help in maintaining electrical systems for production machines.
The worker is required to handle various materials, equipment, replacements parts, motors, and tools.
Often, overhead lifts/hoists are available, but not always, which will require the worker to lift, reach, maneuver parts into position.
The worker is required to work in confined spaces while handling materials for removal/installation.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance-
Electrical: Install and repair electrical systems, electric apparatus and components on industrial process machinery and equipment.
Diagnose malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, rectifiers, instrumentation, wiring, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
Replace faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches and motors and positions sensing devices.
Bend conduit; install new wiring for sensors, valves, actuators, and other electrical devices used for machine and process control.
Troubleshoot machine controls utilizing a PLC, servo, stepper, and basic relay logic controls.
Mechanical: Repair and maintain mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic components on production machines such as metal fabricating stamping machines, material handling system, automated assembly machines, degreasing equipment, anodizing lines, and conveyor systems.
Repair/replace damaged air, chemical, water and hydraulic pipes on machine and measures, cuts, threads and installs new pipe.
Inspects and measures parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems, replace as needed.
Aligns and adjust components on machines to improve or correct machine functionality and part quality.
Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks
Sets up and operates metalworking tools such as lathe, drill press or grinder to make or repair parts.
Braze, weld, cut, solder and metalize as required to effect repairs
Test all repairs and installations for correct functionality and proper performance. Record all work completed in the company asset tracking software, communicating issues, parts used and need to restock components to Maintenance Supervisor.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required.
State approved journeyman certification in: Maintenance Mechanic, Industrial Repairer, or equivalent multi-skilled Mechanical/Electrical program.
Must have specialized mechanical, pneumatic knowledge with diagnostic capabilities for troubleshooting maintenance.
Electrical experience with systems from low voltage e up to 480V 3 phase.
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills are required.
Ability to fabricate, including metal fitting, welding, & cutting.
Instrumentation and PLC troubleshooting and programming skills.
Ability to set up and operate metalworking tools such as lathe, mill, drill press or grinder to make or repair parts.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must have mechanical aptitude to disassemble/reassemble machines and repair/fabricate replacement/new parts for the machines/equipment.
Must be able to communicate with machine operators and engineers regarding machine operations, building operations, and all maintenance and repair.
Must be able to read and understand machine blueprints.
Must be able to record performance and keep accurate maintenance records.
Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations at a high school level, including use of fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios, and basic trigonometry.
Must be able to communicate/take instruction effectively in written and verbal format and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environment.
Must meet production standards as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Must follow all rules of safety as defined by the employer and required by all applicable regulations.
Basic knowledge of carpentry and usage of basic woodworking tools are a plus.

Duration: 3+ Months Contract
Pay rate: $25-35 per hour.
