POSITION SUMMARY: Villatel, a hospitality property management company, is in search of a Maintenance Technician. You will play a vital role in ensuring the upkeep, maintenance, and functionality of our guest accommodations and facilities. Your expertise in various trades, coupled with your flexibility and strong communication skills, is essential as you interact with guests and deliver exceptional maintenance services at our resort properties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and inspections to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeals of guest accommodations, common areas, and facilities.
- Provide proficiency in various trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance, to address maintenance issues effectively and efficiently.
- Interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner while addressing maintenance requests to provide timely and efficient solutions, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations, such as pluming leaks, electrical outages, or HVAC malfunctions, to minimize disruption to guests and minimize potential damage to property.
- Implement preventative maintenance programs to proactively identify and address maintenance issues before they escalate, ensuring the longevity of equipment.
- Maintain clear and open communication with guests, colleagues, and management regarding maintenance issues, work progress, and any potential impact on the guest experience.
- Adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards to maintain a safe working environment for everyone.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, including work orders, repairs, inspections, and equipment for tracking and reporting purposes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and departments to achieve common goals and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Extensive experience and proficiency in multiple trades, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance, preferable in the hospitality industry.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work schedules, and guest demands in a face-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with guests, colleagues, and management, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a customer satisfaction approach.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve maintenance issues effectively and efficiently.
- Meticulous attention to detail ensuring the quality and thoroughness of maintenance work, as well as compliance with safety protocols and industry standards.
- Possession of relevant certifications, license, or qualifications in trades such as plumbing, electrical work, HVAC maintenance, and/or carpentry may be required.
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds or more.
- Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, or crawl for extended periods in a confined space. This includes the ability to balance on ladders or elevated surfaces while working.
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods while performing tasks such as inspections, or movement between different areas of the resort.
- Capable of reaching, stretching, and maneuvering legs, arms, and hands and may include using a ladder or other equipment.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to utilize tools and equipment.
- Stamina to perform tasks that require sustained effort or repetitive motions for extended periods of time. This includes the ability to work in the heat outdoors.
