Maintenance Technician - Bericap Manufacturing - USA

As a result of continued growth Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, hourly openings for Maintenance Technicians reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

The Maintenance Technicians are responsible supporting all departments in maintaining and optimizing all equipment to get the best production results. Respond to calls in a timely manner to resolve issues with equipment and support production.

General Responsibilities

• Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
• Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine inany form, etc.)
• Ensures that all food safety issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
• Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
• Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/walking for duration of shift
• Develop, implement, and support Continuous Improvements Programs
• Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
• Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
• Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
• Duties as assigned per Maintenance Manage

Maintenance Functions

• Participates in pass fown meeting with previous shift Maintenance Technician
• Communication with Shift Supervisor on machine schedule changes to ensure understanding of priorities
• Daily review of Maintenance Communication Board for outstanding action items
• Timley response to maintenance related machine issues which are safety related
• Assist production in resolution of maintenance related concerns causing quality or efficiency issues
• Support other departments in identifying and troubleshooting machine related issues to resolve nonconforming product
• Complete work orders through MVP when not working on urgent repairs
• Complete machine PMs and repairs
• Work on continuous improvement projects assigned by Maintenance Manager
• Enter appropriate information in OPS Tracker and MVP daily
• Respond to any emergency or potential emergency
• Support tooling department as needed

Skills

• Competent in several of the following areas: windows based programs, blueprint reading, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical code/controls, PLC, machine shop equipment, metal fabrication, mechanical principles, basic welding
• Advanced electrical troubleshooting of machinery and ability to read an electrical schematic
• Experience replacing heater bands, heat relays and troubleshooting heat zones
• Advanced knowledge of servicing hydraulics and replacing hydraulic pumps
• Experience with troubleshooting pneumatic systems

Experience

• 3 years' experience in the following areas: PLC/PC controlled machinery, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and maintenance and repair of plant utilities
• Experience with the following equipment manufactureres preferred: Netstal, Engel, Husky, PSG, IMD, Intravis, Kase and SACMI, FANUC
• Injection machine troubleshooting preferred
• High speed packagining equipment repair preferred
• Working knowledge of injection molding processing preferred
• ISO or similar quality system and SQF or similar food safety system preferred

Education

High school diploma or technical college diploma in related field preferred
