Federal Realty Investment Trust is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to provide support and assistance with all facilities related activities for Cocowalk. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on facility plumbing, electric, heating and cooling, and other building systems. This position requires the ability to prioritize assigned orders, documentation of completed tasks, and coordinating with maintenance management to reduce downtime.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service HVAC equipment
• Assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of all HVAC equipment
• Ensure tasks and projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner, and supply feedback and documentation to Manager/HVAC Supervisor
• Respond to emergency calls concerning HVAC systems, life and fire safety systems, water, gas and take corrective action as needed
• Assist in developing preventative maintenance schedules
• Provide outstanding internal and external guest service
• Assist with documentation and information concerning supply and inventories
• Assist other departments including building maintenance with tasks as needed
• Regular, reliable, and consistent attendance
• Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of related experience in HVAC system repair and maintenance
• Trade school or Vocational/Technical Certificate in areas of commercial, industrial, refrigeration, air conditioning service or equivalent working experience
• Certified for refrigerant recovery
• Working knowledge of the safe handling and operation of equipment and tools related with HVAC repair and maintenance
• Expertise in electrical troubleshooting and reading control schematics
• Knowledge of mechanical maintenance and service
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints and plumbing drawings
• To take charge during emergency situations and make repairs and responsible decisions in a timely manner
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for Windows
• Able to work weekends and holidays and on-call 24 hours per day
• Experience in other areas of building repair and maintenance
• Use equipment from heights up to 80 ft- Infrequently
• Work in ceiling areas, periodically, as needed

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions. May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise, and temperature extremes. Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. while performing job duties. Wrist, hand, and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials.
