Maintenance Tech Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible to perform routine and extensive preventative and repair procedures on Melmark buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems. The Maintenance Tech is responsible for the completion of assigned maintenance work requests, including the completion and forwarding of associated paperwork and communication to the department managers concerning special orders of parts and materials for assigned work requests. The Maintenance Technician will perform routine floor care such as sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming and shampooing carpet areas per housekeeping services. They will do general cleaning in the building and office areas.
Schedule and Salary Information
- Monday- Friday 7:30a-4p
- Starting Rate: $24/hour (+) based on years of experience
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Trade school preferred.
- A valid US driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must meet approved Melmark driver status.
- Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance or construction experience.
Maintenance Tech Responsibilities
- Completes routine building and equipment repairs. Performs a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities (e.g., carpentry, painting, electrical, plumping) for the purpose of completing projects within established time frames.
- Performs preventative maintenance procedures on buildings. Inspects work areas for safety and needed repairs.
- Maintains facility equipment, including washers, dryers, boilers, air conditioners, furnaces, generators, tractors, snow removal equipment.
- Assists with physical moves, including educational relocations.
- Completes set ups for special events.
- Do a walkthrough of entire building, cleaning up any debris, mopping any spills, cleaning dirty windows, changing trash can liners, stocking all bathrooms, and reporting anything out of the ordinary to Directors.
- Does a walk through of the external school grounds, picking up any debris and reporting any areas of concern
