About the Job
- Perform in-process inspection and control for all production steps including but not limited to: mixing, wax, lacquer, sizing, conditioning, inspection and slitting
- Perform standardized testing on all samples submitted to Quality Control
- Ensure adherence to best production practices and product quality standards,
- Communicate inspection and test results and recommended running parameter changes to Quality Manager, Press Operators, Departmental Supervisors, and Production Manager
- Generate and organize proper quality documentation as required
- Support efficient execution of the production schedule by completing lab tests correctly and efficiently
- Define, collaborate and internally communicate corrective actions and preventative action
- Support and collaborate with companywide quality initiatives
- Monitor the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of production output
- Assist in investigation of quality issues that arise during production or from customer feedback; investigate root causes using appropriate methodologies
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe working environment
- Assist in documentation and investigation development of corrective actions for customers
- Monitor for repeat occurrences, investigate and translate findings into preventive actions and permanent process solutions
- Crosstrain and perform inspection operations as assigned
- Additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by Quality Manager and/or Quality Tech Lead

Required Experience:
Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality control best practices
- Demonstrated competency in all areas of production including fundamental knowledge of production equipment and processes
- Knowledgeable in a variety of measurement devices and test equipment
- Good understanding of failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) concepts
- Proven safety and environmental compliance
- Ability to demonstrate a ‘team’ approach, working with integrated teams/departments
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to properly learn and utilize SAP business operations and information system as required
- Ability and knowledge to use Microsoft office programs
- Aptitude for critical thinking and working with data
- Ability to work overtime as requested
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work independently
- Preferred, but not required, Associate’s degree or higher in Quality, Chemistry, Engineering, or equivalent technical field
- At least 2 years of experience in Quality control in a manufacturing/production environment
- Experience using a wide range of calibrated testing devices
- Preferred, but not required, Lean Six Sigma experience or certification
