LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician to join their team in Elgin, IL. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of equipment in a manufacturing facility, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal production efficiency. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a refrigerated food manufacturing setting. 3rd Shift Standard Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10:00 pm-6:00 am
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks on manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, establish failure problems, and resolve them in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
- Execute repairs and replacements of defective parts or components as needed to maintain equipment functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment repairs, and inventory of spare parts.
- Collaborate with production personnel to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in maintenance of equipment in a manufacturing setting, preferably in a refrigerated food manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to effectively prioritize and manage maintenance tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed, including occasional weekends and overtime.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to established safety protocols and procedures.
