Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Berkeley Dog and Cat Hospital
*We are looking for an individual who is open to working part-time during the week and on-call on the weekends for any hospital emergencies that may arise.
Position Overview:
The position is responsible for the daily repairs and general up keep of the property. The position performs a variety of building maintenance repair work, which may include janitorial work, throughout the building.

• Knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools and equipment used to clean buildings and furniture.
Essential Functions:
- Proficient in building maintenance and repair, including painting, electrical, roofing, plumbing, HVAC systems, boilers, appliances, and drywall.
- Knowledgeable about tools and equipment used in building maintenance, ensuring safe and responsible usage.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Hospital Manager to coordinate and schedule vendor work as needed.
- Manage daily tasks and projects with minimal supervision.
- Safely operate equipment as required.
- Moving of furniture and office equipment.
- Landscaping - trimming trees, watering plants, mulching, and keeping outside turf clean.
- Diagnose operational failures and apply problem-solving skills to find solutions.
- Learn computer systems and utilize Trello for work order management.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Be available for on-call duty during off-shifts and weekends for emergency maintenance coverage.
- Report directly to the Hospital Manager.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Hospital Manager.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or the equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Working in a team environment
• Three or more years of relevant maintenance or trade experience is required.
• Verbal and written communication skills
