Patriot Village is hiring a Maintenance Technician Assistant!
The Maintenance Technician Assistant is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Technician in the daily upkeep, repair, and maintenance of facility equipment, buildings, and grounds. This role ensures a safe, clean, and efficient environment for staff and residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Maintenance Technician in performing routine maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC system upkeep.
- Conduct minor repairs and preventative maintenance on facility equipment and systems under supervision.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders to address operational needs.
- Help maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and storage areas.
- Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, landscaping, and general outdoor upkeep.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures while using tools, equipment, and materials.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and report any issues to the Maintenance Technician or Supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and facility standards during all maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- General Maintenance Experience is required
- Plumbing, electrical and HVAC experience is preferred
- Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and techniques (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various physical conditions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Prior maintenance or handyman experience is a plus but not required.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, tools, and equipment.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions during landscaping or snow removal tasks.
- Physical work requires the ability to stand, climb, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications
- Proficient in English with strong mechanical knowledge
- Experience in facilities maintenance and general maintenance tasks
- Familiarity with schematics and programmable logic controllers
- Basic welding and electrical experience preferred
- Relevant skills in residential painting and customer service
- Leadership and supervisory experience in a maintenance environment
- Knowledge of CMMS and ability to use an ohmmeter for diagnostics
