Maintenance Technician 2nd or 3rd Shift - T. Marzetti Company

T. Marzetti Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lancaster Colony Corporation (NASDAQ: LANC), is a manufacturer and marketer of specialty food products for the retail and foodservice markets. Our retail brands include Marzetti^®, New York Bakery™ and Sister Schubert’s^®, in addition to exclusive license agreements for Olive Garden^® dressings, Chick-fil-A^® sauces and Buffalo Wild Wings^® sauces. Our foodservice business supplies many of the top restaurant chains in the United States. 

This person is a qualified individual and provides for the maintenance and repair of the plant’s machinery, grounds, buildings and equipment.  This maintenance position is expected to perform the job functions under minimal or no supervision.

• This Position is potentially for 2nd or 3rd shift
• $26.50 to $30 an hour range + shift differential
• Review all pertinent SOP’s and is a QI (Qualified Individual) for the position
• Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitors.
• Evaluates & identifies potential problems, repairs & maintains electrical / mechanical machinery and equipment.
• Evaluates & identifies potential problem, repairs & maintains pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC and plumbing systems inside & outside of plant
• Installs new and/or relocates old equipment
• Performs all needed repairs and maintenance to buildings and grounds.
• Evaluates and identifies issues related to PLC, HMI and electrical controls systems
• Maintains preventative maintenance and other required records.
• TIG welding with mild steel and/or stainless steel.
• Involved with all major project improvements.
• Organizes maintenance personnel to their assigned work area & organizes team meetings with all coworkers.
• Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures.
• Works respectfully with all team members to ensure the Safety, Quality, production and support of our products and goals on a daily basis.
• Performs other duties / responsibilities as assigned by Management
• Strive to be a safety solutions leader by maintaining the 200% for safety mindset.  Participate engagement activities, complete required safety training and aid in identifying hazards within the facility utilizing BBS and Safety Monitor programs.
• Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
• Participates in activities related to Marzetti Operational Excellence.

• Advanced level mechanical aptitude and accurate troubleshooting ability are required, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to successfully work independently and as a team with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks as assigned.
• Must be able to successfully obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintain per company and OSHA standards.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively – verbally & written – to and work well with Team Members, Management, Customers & Vendors.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation, ability to properly use/operate accurate tools and good math skills are required.
• Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast paced environment.
• Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required
• Working knowledge of Microsoft tools (excel, word, outlook)

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read and comprehend, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment.  Must be able to push/pull 150 pounds short distances. Lifting up to 50 pounds repetitively.  Standing required for up to 12 hours shifts with regular breaks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap.  The noise level in the plant is loud and requires hearing protection to be worn

SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the employee.
