About the Job
The Maintenance Technician reports to Maintenance Manager and is responsible for keeping all mechanical aspects of machinery and facilities systems operational.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Makes critical decisions for the repair mechanical and electrical issues and conducts mechanical and electrical repairs.
Fabricates parts on a lathe or mill is a plus but not required
Performs mechanical/electrical trouble shooting by reading and interpreting blueprints.
Performs preventative maintenance on all equipment.
Research part numbers for various machines.
Understand and input information into maintenance software.
Escorts pest control technicians if needed.
Participates in cost savings measures.
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Performs other duties that are maintenance related
Desired Skills and Experience:
Minimum two years Technical school certificate in Industrial Technology or related field required.
Five+ years in industrial maintenance in manufacturing environment required.
Must have mechanical/electrical aptitude.
PLC knowledge and troubleshooting control circuits is required
Offset printing, Die Cutting and Folder Gluer experience preferred
Basic welding knowledge a plus.
Basic plumbing experience a plus.
Key Skills and Attributes:
Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to work unsupervised.
Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Use of basic computer skills.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously; multi-tasking.
Good organizational skills
Sense of urgency
Ability to work well with outside vendors and internal customers.
Physical Requirements:
Position can require lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, reach, and pull on and around equipment and the facility.
Ability to work in tight spaces.
Requires manual dexterity to reach/handle items and work using fingers.
Ability to work in elevated heights.
Working Conditions and Environment:
Equipment cleaning, preventative maintenance and equipment repairs can result in dirty work environment.
Position may cause exposure to, dust, fumes, noise, and odors.
Position on occasion is exposed to improperly illuminated or awkward and confining working spaces.
Position usually entails lifting and carrying of items.
Position may experience periods of frequent overtime on weekdays and weekends.

Working Environment:
Your work will be done in a clean manufacturing facility which produces high quality packaging products for Pharmaceutical Companies. You may be required to lift up to 50lbs., bend, stoop, reach and walk short distances to complete job task. Use of proper personal safety equipment is required when in the manufacturing or warehouse areas, including but not limited to hearing protection, safety glasses and safety shoes.
