We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Maintenance Tech Lead, to join our Fernley Nevada Insulation Team. The Maintenance Tech Lead will coordinate work done by the Maintenance department subordinates based on work order Items. While performing preventative and repair maintenance for all mechanical equipment, will work with the Plant Manager and Plant Engineer to provide technical expertise on various issues.
- Must possess good communication and supervising skills.
- Complete and assign tasks described in the Work Order List based on their priority.
- Perform all mechanically related work associated with the plant and facilities operation, repair of equipment, preventative maintenance, and fabrication of new equipment or modification of existing equipment. The type of equipment involved includes pumps, valves, conveyors, saws, dust collectors, heating and ventilation equipment, vehicles (forklifts, diesel truck, pickup), process piping, heat exchangers, many bearing surfaces, gears, hydraulic and pneumatic powered equipment, etc. Some light carpentry is occasionally required.
- Be capable of reading technical service manuals, blueprints and interpreting hydraulic schematics.
- Follow the Work Order List unless tasks become apparent to maintain production integrity.
- Assist others elsewhere as needed.
- Assist in inventory of spare parts and other stockroom functions. Be familiar with the use of the computer keyboard and terminal as computer stock control is implemented.
- Perform miscellaneous electrical tasks as necessary
- Must provide own hand tools and maintain a good driving record.
- Capable of mechanical work required as needed for refuse truck, fork truck and company pickup truck repairs and maintenance.
- High School Degree
- 5 + years of experience industrial mechanical experience in a production environment
- Prior forklift certification a plus
- Familiarity with environmental, health & safety regulations
- Must possess good mechanical aptitude and be able to analyze and troubleshoot problems.
- Knowledge of pneumatic cylinders and controls. Extrusion and sheet line experience a plus
- Ability to team with production management to achieve common goals
- Develop a strong team between maintenance/engineering and production
- Excellent organizational capabilities with good record keeping skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multi-task in a fast -paced environment
