About the Job
Manual and mechanical duties and complex repairs and maintenance to printing and converting machinery. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control problems, performing maintenance, machining and fabrication of parts, and other similar duties pertaining to machine maintenance. Perform mechanical repairs/maintenance of a variety of printing and converting machinery. Troubleshoot mechanical problems as reported by operators. Determine the nature of the problems and the appropriate corrective action to minimize machine down time. Perform complex repairs to machinery such as disassembly and replacements of print deck components, gear changes, optical scanner operation, roll changes, etc. Perform repairs to hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or dryer systems. Replace broken or worn components in machines. Perform welding and machining of parts and components to specified tolerances and as required to effect repairs. Fabricate various components, machine guards, brackets, and other items for machinery. Develop preventative maintenance procedures to keep all machinery in good operating condition and routine electrical and/or electronic repairs to machinery. Troubleshoot the situation and take the required corrective action such as replacing components, rewiring, etc. Make arrangements with electrical contractor for major repair work. Ability to read and understand manuals, policies, and procedures. This would include, but not limited to, electrical, pneumatic hydraulic, control, and mechanical drawings. Must have at least two years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and working knowledge with controls, PLCs, and pneumatics.
Engineering degree (electrical) or certificate required. 3 – 5 years hands-on experience required. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC controls. This is a hands-on trouble-shooting, diagnostic, and repair role for our more than 100 machines reporting to our VP of Engineering.
