Cogir Senior Living (formerly Cadence Living) is hiring an experienced, friendly, and energetic Maintenance Tech (Handyman and Driver) in our beautiful retirement community Tribute at Black Hill.
Our Maintenance Tech (Handyman) is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of the building, and general upkeep of all company maintenance-related issues, according to operating and safety standards. They will also assist with driving the community van or bus for resident outings and appointments.

What will you do as a Maintenance Technician?
- Perform routine building maintenance as directed, completing tasks like painting, floor care, pressure washing, basic plumbing repairs, etc.
- Ensure that all repairs and service orders are completed promptly, according to operating and safety standards.
- Repair and maintain vacated rooms promptly.
- Ensure that the walls, floor coverings, doors, and woodwork in the common areas of the community are well maintained.
- Maintain positive communication with the local fire marshal, building inspector, state elevator inspector, and any other jurisdictions governing the community.
- Assist in driving the community bus for resident appointments & activities outings as needed.
- Assume responsibility for care and maintenance of the company vehicle, while maintaining all certifications as required by the State.
If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat:
- A positive team player mentality and passion for serving seniors!
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior maintenance experience is required with a general maintenance skillset, including HVAC, drywall repair and texturing, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, basic repairs, painting, floor care, and landscaping.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their uses, cleaning equipment.
- Current driver's license and clean driving record.
- A minimum of one year of driving in transportation services is preferred, ideally in the retirement industry (IL, AL, or MC), or medical field, with a proven track record of focus on customer service.
- Previous experience working in a commercial property, hotel, apartment complex, Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), Memory Care (MC), or Senior Living experience is a plus!
