About the Job
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance service and repairs on production equipment.
- Completes preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment and other facility equipment.
- Basic to intermediate plumbing such as installing air lines, making hydraulic hoses, and other chemical delivery pipes.
- Intermediate electrical tasks such as bending conduit, pulling wire, terminating circuit breakers, etc.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting tasks such as measuring voltage and current, performing continuity tests, etc.
- Performs conveyor maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs.
- Basic hydraulic/pneumatic repairs and troubleshooting.
- Forklift repairs when needed.
- Shop re-builds and housekeeping.
- Basic fabrication (Cutting, drilling, tapping, welding, etc.).
- Assists with shop organization and spare parts inventory.
- Completes assigned tasks on time according to schedule.
- Trains/mentors new hires and less experienced technicians.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills & Education:
- Requires 2-5 years of experience in the industrial manufacturing field or in a related area.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to operate power tools and other shop equipment.
- Ability to acquire forklift certification.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills.
- Basic to intermediate computer skills for completing workorders and researching spare parts/components.
- Basic to intermediate electrical troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment up to 480VAC.
- Basic PLC experience and ability to verify I/O points.
- Mechanical component identification.
- Ability to read/understand basic electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and other technical documents.
- Employs safe work practices such as lock out tag out, ladder safety, safe use of power tools, etc.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed.
