A leader in the custom plastic extrusion industry for over 30 years that specializes in developing high-quality plastic profiles for a variety of applications is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations at our Skokie and Niles facilities. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong background in mechanical and electrical maintenance, who can ensure the smooth operation of plant processes and manage a team of maintenance technicians.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Maintenance Team: Lead and manage a team of 9 maintenance technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality maintenance services.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production processes.
- Facility Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of two facilities, totaling approximately 185,000 square feet.
- Inventory Management: Organize and manage maintenance parts and supplies, ensuring accurate digital records and timely procurement.
- Leadership and Training: Provide leadership and training to maintenance staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure maintenance activities align with production goals and schedules.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, but candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered.
- Experience: Proven experience in a maintenance supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex issues.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

- Experience with digital inventory management systems.
