Job Summary:
This position is responsible for direct technicians and other maintenance employees. The job is to organize and monitor or supervise the maintenance operations of a facility. Maintenance Supervisors also provide technical assistance to department directors and Maintenance Managers.

Approximately 10% of the time will be spent doing desk related work on a computer and working with basic office equipment (PC, fax and printer, phones) while the remaining 90% spent on the production floor completing work related to the position.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds individually and team lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures without endangering the health or safety of self or others. Must wear all personal protective equipment where required.

Job Summary:

Main Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned):
- Prepare work schedules, assign work and oversee the work product.
- Coach, counsel and manage the performance of direct reports.
- Develop and maintain the Preventive Maintenance Schedule Program for applicable equipment and machinery.
- Arrange and manage appropriate third-party contractor support as needed.
- Prepare budgets and secure estimates and cost quotes as needed.
- Enforce sound safety and housekeeping practices.
- Administer maintenance paperwork including but not limited to employee scheduling, PM records, safety investigations and environmental compliance.
- Work with Human Resource Manager on the investigation of grievances as required.
- Assist in special plant events as required.
- Assist with Apprenticeship Training Program.
- Make recommendations and suggestions that promote Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing throughout the organization.
- Communicate policies and procedures professionally to hourly and salary associates.
- Serve as a liaison between employees and the Technical Manager.
- Evaluate reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommend new approaches.
Education:
- High School diploma. Technical degree and/or bachelors in related engineering field a plus.
- Proven experience of 5-8 years of supervisor experience required. Automotive industry preferred.
- 10 years' experience as Maintenance Mechanic.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: OSHA Program Certification preferred.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in use the MP2 system, Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel.
- Mathematical Abilities: Solid Math skills.
- Analytical or Reasoning Abilities:
- Strong analytical, planning skills and critical thinking ability required with orientation for continuous improvement. Ability to work logically and systematically with effective time management.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Excellent problem solving and communications skills.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of general supervision.
- Knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of plant maintenance.
- Knowledge of all phases of construction and building maintenance.
- Skill at making mechanical and electrical repairs.
- Skill at making tough judgment calls in time crunch situations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to develop long-term plans and programs and to evaluate work accomplishments.
- Communication Skills: (Writing, Foreign Language, Reasoning):
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Highly effective, articulate communication skills (verbal & written) with strong interpersonal effectiveness and the ability to work with all levels in the organization and across cultures.
- Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
