Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join out long-term client’s team at one of their properties in Golden Valley, MN (55427). The ideal candidate will have 5 years’ experience in hands on maintenance, at least 2 of those years in a leadership role within residential property maintenance, HVAC/Magic Pack experience is required, strong organization skills and someone that will lead by example. This role is a contract to hire role (30-90 days before conversion).
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing and performing technical and mechanical work that ensures the inside and external buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas of the community meet standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and overall functionality.
This role will be working with a 173 Class A unit community with Magic Packs.
Onsite team: 1 property manager, 1 assistant property manager, 1 maintenance Supervisor (this position once filled).
Salary: $30-$33/hour. This role is a contract to hire role (30-90 days before conversion).
Schedule: Monday – Friday: 8am – 5pm – must be available for apartment turns and emergency response/on-call upon conversion. On-call will be every 2 weeks and further details can be provided during interviews.
Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Assist Community Manager in hiring, inspecting, counseling, and promoting, staffing levels as directed by the Regional Manager and if needed, terminating employees.
- Continually educate staff on safe working conditions and keep informed on all work safety issues including OSHA guidelines and safe working conditions bulletin.
- Prepares all market-ready apartments, which may include painting, carpet cleaning/repair, general repairs, and housekeeping to ensure a quality product to our residents.
- Completes resident service request in a timely manner.
- Has knowledge of various maintenance functions including and not limited to plumbing, air conditioning, heating, general carpentry skills, appliance, electrical, painting, caulking, snow removal, scheduling, and life safety issues.
- Maintains grounds, pools/ hot tubs, common areas, and dog parks to keep them clean, free of trash, debris, and other safety issues.
- Performs on-call emergency procedures as required.
- Reports any maintenance issues that affect the budget such as life safety, vacant repairs, property damages, and common area needs to the manager.
- Schedules and performs preventative maintenance and records such activities.
- Is knowledgeable of state, local, and federal housing laws, codes, policies, and systems regarding maintenance.
- Attends and participates in training programs as required by company and local city and state jurisdictions.
- Provide superior customer service and represent the company in a professional manner at all times.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years’ of related experience and at least1 years of experience in a leadership role within residential properties.
- Hands-on working knowledge of typical apartment maintenance tasks is required.
- Must possess leadership skills and ability to deal effectively with customers/residents.
- Must have knowledge of HVAC/Magic Packs – REQUIRED.
- Associates must have valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation as this role will be roving between (2) properties, and on-call/emergency response is required after conversion.
