Job Summary:
- The Maintenance Supervisor provides comprehensive support to hourly team members in various aspects including safety, productivity, quality, cost, equipment, and engagement. This role entails offering leadership and guidance to ensure that Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are achieved, while directly overseeing and leading a team of hourly team members. The incumbent fosters a culture of continuous improvement and promotes a positive work environment.
Job Duties:
- Oversee the maintenance process to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, ensuring adherence to all production and maintenance metrics and deadlines.
- Assign tasks, analyze productivity, workflow, methods, and procedures, and make recommendations to management as necessary.
- Resolve personnel issues by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending appropriate action. Administer discipline, corrective action, and coaching as required. Assist in resolving employee disputes or grievances.
- Enforce all company policies and plant rules, including the development and implementation of standard operating procedures. Maintain a collaborative relationship with the union by adhering to the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Manage maintenance labor by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules to minimize overtime, resolving issues, and reporting shift production results daily.
- Recommend measures to enhance production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and workplace safety.
- Identify, report, and troubleshoot food safety and/or quality issues. Inspect products to ensure compliance with specifications and oversee machine setup and adjustments as needed.
- Utilize the management operating structure to lead the maintenance team effectively.
- Develop and analyze data to formulate action plans aimed at reducing top downtime drivers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably in a union environment, with prior experience in a food manufacturing setting.
- Effective collaboration skills within a team environment to achieve successful project performance.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively at all organizational levels through clear communication.
- Self-motivated approach to seeking additional work that benefits the department when time permits.
- Ability to prioritize projects and tasks effectively.
- Proficient analytical reasoning skills.
- Commitment to fostering a collaborative workplace culture with positive reinforcement.

- Proficiency in MS Office products, with SAP knowledge preferred.
