Position Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations, supervising House Crew staff, and ensuring the successful execution of events. Key duties include recruiting, training, and scheduling staff, performing routine maintenance (painting, plumbing, carpentry, small engine repair), and managing event setups and breakdowns. The supervisor also handles equipment and inventory management, coordinates with external vendors for specialized repairs, and oversees the facility's trash removal program. Acting as the venue's point of contact for third-party vendors, the supervisor reports to the Facilities Manager and ensures the facility is well-maintained and fully prepared for all events.
Essential Functions:
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise House Crew staff.
- Inspect facility to determine and assess maintenance needs.
- Oversee routine maintenance, prepare maintenance schedules and allocate work.
- Perform maintenance of general site including painting, minor plumbing and carpentry, small engine repair.
- Leads crews for all changeovers into and out of events, including setup and breakdown of fences, barricades, signage, furniture and other site fixtures.
- Coordinate maintenance projects and event needs with facility property owners/landlord.
- Research and recommend outside vendors if necessary for specialized maintenance work.
- Management of equipment, tools and site supplies by taking inventory, performing maintenance on tools as well as maintenance of storage areas.
- Maintain an active inventory of all tools, equipment, consumables and include a log of where to purchase replacement parts, part numbers, instruction manuals, and warranty information.
- Provide weekly updates to Facilities Manager on purchases that need to be made for repairs and request new equipment as needed.
- Manage dumpster and refuse program.
- Oversee trash removal after each show and special garbage pick-ups for large scale production items that may have been built and are no longer needed.
- Act as venue representative and point of contact for 3rd parties working on site.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred)
- 2-4 years of related work experience
- Experience in a supervisory role in a related industry
- Experience in proper cleaning solutions and overall repair/maintenance
- Ability to prioritize workload, solve problems quickly and react to difficult situations appropriately
- Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Knowledge of plumbing and electrical repair
- Highly organized with good coordinating and project management skills
- Able to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a high-pressure environment
- Knowledge and interest in live entertainment preferred
Pay Scale: $24.10-$35.11
