Our client, a leader in the manufacturing industry, is currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Maintenance Supervisor for 2nd shift to oversee and enhance their manufacturing maintenance operations. This pivotal role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including staff scheduling and training, process control recordkeeping, preventive maintenance (PM) documentation, scheduling, reporting, continual improvement initiatives, and technical support. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Production and Mixing Managers to ensure maintenance coverage aligns with daily, weekend, and holiday production schedules.
- Supervise and schedule mechanical, crib, utility, and PM maintenance personnel, including vacation, training, and contingency planning.
- Oversee the inventory, reordering of critical parts, and specification of functionally equivalent replacement parts as needed.
- Ensure accurate PM documentation, scheduling, and reporting through the MVP CMMS system, including maintenance of daily tech log sheets and work order tracking.
- Conduct evaluations of production cells, processes, and ancillary equipment to improve uptime, efficiency, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Lead cross-training initiatives for maintenance staff to ensure robust coverage across all operational periods.
- Collaborate with project managers, maintenance, and management personnel to streamline project tasks and achieve operational goals.
- Facilitate communication and professional interactions with suppliers, contractors, and inspection agencies to ensure project and maintenance standards are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct leadership and supervision of the mechanical, crib, utility, and PM technicians.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various departments including Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance.
- Proficiency in interacting with suppliers, contractors, and inspectors in a professional manner.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in process supervision or management within an industrial environment.
- Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to manage time effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Control, or a related field, or 5 years of equivalent experience in a supervisory role.
- Supervisory skills are highly recommended.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced engineering math skills.
- Proficient in engineering computer applications. PLC and Vision system skills are a plus.
