- Lead and supervise a team of 10-15 hourly union employees in a 24/7 facility
- Oversee both planned preventative maintenance and equipment breakdown scenarios
- Assign manpower and equipment to repair and upgrade mill machinery
- Implement and enforce safety program goals to ensure a secure work environment
- Analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions
- Spend 85-90% of your time on the floor, working hands-on with your team
- Prepare and plan for upcoming shift needs
- Assess team fitness for duty to meet safety requirements
- 2-5 years of experience supervising maintenance employees in a heavy manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred (HS diploma/GED considered)
- Experience in a union environment is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication and people management skills
- Willingness to work rotating swing shifts in a 24/7 facility
- Grit and adaptability (military experience with large equipment is highly valued)
- Hands-on approach with the ability to balance floor work and administrative tasks
