Pridestaff Visalia is hiring a Maintenance Planner for a Direct Hire position.
Essential duties and responsibilities
• Creates and maintains a preventive maintenance system for plant equipment
• Coordinate communications and efforts with vendors to execute repairs, PM’s,
and upgrades to equipment and tooling. Participate in planning meetings with
Maintenance.
• Coordinates with plant supervisors to ensure plant equipment performs to meet
production demands
• Plans and assigns maintenance tasks (preventative and corrective) to
maintenance technicians
• Receive machine downtime data as well as monitoring and posting PM
completion ratio data. Inputs data into COG’s system as well as specified Excel
documents
• Develops a weekly schedule for PM’s to critical and ancillary equipment
• Ensures that the CMMS software and data files are complete and current
• Identifies and analyzes and reviews equipment maintenance problems with the
maintenance manager to update or modify PM frequency or add more tasks to
existing PM’s
• Creates, refines, implements, distributes, and follows up on tasks related to
preventive and corrective maintenance programs including scheduling, budgeting
and driving activities
• Communicates plant equipment operational status on a continual basis to
maintenance manager and maintenance supervisors
• Tracks maintenance supply inventories to ensure that proper materials are on-
hand for planned maintenance activities and emergency corrective maintenance needs
• Works with parts clerk and purchasing agent to ensure that parts are readily
available for PM’s and corrective work orders for job completion in a timely
fashion
• Implement and maintain systems to coordinate and control plant maintenance
documentation such as work orders, hot work permits, work permits, daily
housekeeping and rounds sheet, filter log, drawings and owner’s manuals
• Knows and complies with all safety and quality policies and procedures
• Performs and participates in team-building activities such as shift change (pass-
down) meetings, safety meetings and work schedules to ensure workloads and opportunities are distributed fairly; developing employee skills, utilizing strengths
and improving weaknesses
• Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on
work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel
• Actively work and coordinate work with maintenance manager, maintenance
supervisors, production supervisors and team leads to minimize plant down time
• Monitor tools and the condition of maintenance shops to ensure adequate
working conditions
• Examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine
needed installations, services, or repairs for scheduled PM and contractor work
• Coordinate, plan and track maintenance activities utilizing maintenance software
to keep accurate records.
• Support development and implementation of capital improvements.
• Must be able to work with Operators, Packers, Maintenance, and Management to
achieve goals without having direct authority over any group(s).
• Must be able to apply technical knowledge, analytical and critical thinking skills to
solve problems quickly when production equipment is down.
• Must be able to manage time effectively while coordinating projects and
supporting production
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager
Qualifications
• 3-5 Years prior experience in Preventive Maintenance Planning preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months
related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
• Reasoning ability—Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to troubleshoot and
solve problems.
• Language skills—Ability to read and comprehend English language, simple
instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple
correspondence in English. Ability to effectively present information.
• Mathematics—Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and
divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of weights
and measurement and volume.
