The Maintenance Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in improving the mechanical reliability of maintenance systems and programs. This position emphasizes the promotion of safe operations, management of repair projects, and the assurance of high-quality finished products.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Safety
- Ensure that all internal and external work adheres to established safety policies, fostering an incident-free workplace.
- Assess all projects prior to installation to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
Engineering
- Oversee project and maintenance activities, focusing on safety, compliance, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance and engineering, aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs) and profit and loss (P&L) objectives.
- Foster a collaborative and developmental environment for team management.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to optimize repair costs.
- Manage repairs and projects to meet financial targets.
- Promote environmental responsibility and enhance knowledge of maintenance and operational machinery.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Efficiently manage capital projects, ensuring timely completion within budget.
- Understand and address internal customer needs and KPIs, while collaborating with Purchasing on residual shipments and discrepancies.
- Apply maintenance reliability principles effectively.
- Manage multiple priorities and meet challenging deadlines with urgency and accountability.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and explore new systems for operational efficiency.
- Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in maintenance engineering roles.
- Proven engineering expertise and demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Self-motivated with strong communication skills.
