ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintenance Technicians perform general maintenance for retail stores which may include providing support with plumbing, electrical, lighting, carpentry, and miscellaneous store equipment. Work independently, self–motivate and prioritize your work load. Local and out-of-town travel and 24-hour on call periodically required.
- Plumbing: Knowledge of water heaters, recirculating pumps, faucets, sinks, restrooms, and draining lines; including repair and snaking.
- Electrical: Troubleshooting and repair of basic circuits, replacing outlets, light switches and cords.
- Lighting: Lamp, ballast and fixture replacement and troubleshooting throughout the store; including refrigerated cases and equipment.
- Carpentry: Framing, drywall, drop ceilings, finish-work, painting, countertops and cabinets.
- Miscellaneous store equipment: Doors, locksets, check-stands, floor tile and other miscellaneous store equipment.
- Maintenance Technicians/Mechanics perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Two-years of job related experience with demonstrated competence.
- Must be able to understand manufactures technical instructions relating to preventative maintenance procedures and schedules. May be required to determine if 3rd party assistance is necessary and to monitor that service on a given project or to source the necessary consultation.
- Maintenance Technicians/Mechanics must have good mechanical skills. Good spatial recognition and awareness. Physical strength and abilities. Knowledge of hand held and power tools, including their operation and application. Knowledge of retail Store functions. Design skills, strong math skills, basic computer skills as well as strong communication skills are required. Ability to work overtime without prior notice and to be "on call" at specific times.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize work day and work load. Work in every area of the retail stores and around all employees. May work with supply companies when ordering and picking up parts and cooperates with sub-contractors when they are working on our buildings.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS
- The Maintenance Technician/Mechanic job includes hazardous work and may include extreme temperatures, working around chemicals, and exposure to varying heights.
- Workload, location and problem resolution are usually unpredictable. Time constraints are often experienced.
- Emergency situations may arise at any time.
