Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment: motors, controls, circuit boards, pneumatics, hydraulics, production machines, and any production or service-related components by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
- Troubleshooting/Diagnosing malfunctioning electrical components/devices such as motors and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken components, wires and cables as needed.
- Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
- Starts devices to test their performance/function - adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Investigating/recommending/requesting parts for initiating repairs (purchase requisitions).
- Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.
- Maintaining a schedule for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
- Cleaning, repairing and installing equipment and parts as needed.
- Operating a variety of hand and power tools.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Complying with health and safety regulations (OSHA general duty, LOTO, & NFPA 70 (Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
- Performing general maintenance work on buildings as assigned.
Maintenance Mechanic Requirements:
- Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability.
- Strong computer skills.
- Physical dexterity (standing / lifting / walking / climbing / pushing / pulling / gripping / carrying).
- Good troubleshooting skills / basic industrial systems knowledge (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, steam, pneumatic).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to maintenance.

Education/Experience:
- Ability to perform electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical repairs and upgrades.
- Ability to troubleshoot & repair routine electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
- Trained in confined space, HAZWOPER. (Training Provided by Toppan)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of nine (9) Credit Hours of Industrial Maintenance Course work from an Accredited College or Technical School - A transcript must be provided for review.
- CEU'S MAY BE CONSIDERED toward this requirement.
- 2-5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong PLC troubleshooting ability a plus.
- Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability.
- Strong computer skills and math competency.
- Physical dexterity / ability to perform physical requirements of job..
- Good troubleshooting and reasoning skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Certificates and Licenses:
Forklift certification. (Re-certification Training Provided by Toppan)
Work Schedule:
The employee must be able to work any assigned shift to meet company service demands.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high temperatures, fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
