Our organization is seeking a dynamic and seasoned Permanent Maintenance Mechanic Manager to join our Engineering team. This position offers the opportunity to manage and lead a team of skilled maintenance mechanics, ensuring the smooth operation of our state-of-the-art machinery. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on maintenance and preventative maintenance. This role is integral to our organization's success, as it ensures the longevity and efficiency of our machinery, ultimately contributing to our bottom line.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Maintenance Mechanic Manager, your core responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing the day-to-day activities of the maintenance department, ensuring all machinery is functioning at optimal levels.
2. Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
3. Conducting regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate.
4. Collaborating with other departments to understand their machinery needs and ensure these are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
5. Managing the maintenance budget, including sourcing and procuring necessary parts and equipment.
6. Training and mentoring maintenance staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
7. Ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to health and safety regulations.
8. Liaising with external contractors and suppliers as required.
9. Keeping abreast of advancements in mechanical engineering and maintenance practices, and incorporating these into our operations where appropriate.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the Permanent Maintenance Mechanic Manager position, you will need the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance management role within the engineering industry.
3. Proven experience in implementing and managing preventative maintenance programs.
4. Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage and motivate a team.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on finding cost-effective solutions to maintenance issues.
6. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations relating to machinery maintenance.
