Maintenance Mechanic
Position Summary:
Performs various maintenance functions, including maintenance of the hospital, grounds, and all hospital properties. All other duties as assigned as department demands.

Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities):
Performs general maintenance and construction functions such as:
- Plunge toilets, adjust thermostats, replace light bulbs, paints, drywall repair, etc. Greases, oils, wipes, does filter changes, belt changes, sewer cleaning, roof repair, caulking, bearings, and makes repairs.
- Maintains interior and exterior lighting. Maintain and tests electrical equipment as required. Informs supervisor of any problems.
- Fills out and completes all assigned corrective work orders as required. Maintains preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Provides cost estimate of material used or needed for repair.
- Responds to radio calls in adequate time frame. Completes requisitions of material needed for repair.
- Attend and keeps up to date with all equipment in-service material. Assists co-workers, if needed to accomplish job task when supervisor approves.
- Must be able to report to work in the event of a disaster.
- Communicates with hospital personnel to inform them of repair or status of repairs, taking place in their area.
- Performs job duties in accordance with standards set forth by AHCA and JACHO, if applicable.
- Diagnoses system malfunctions on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Work is performed under the limited supervisor of the Facilities Director.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Electrician Certification preferred.
