Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Plant, incumbent performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled tasks in the maintenance, alteration and repair of utilities, buildings, and related facilities and equipment, including but not limited to: basic HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural work. The specific duties of the position vary depending on work assignments. Essential Job Functions: The identification of essential functions below is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties that may be assigned to this position, nor does it restrict the duties which may be assigned to this position if such duties reasonably relate to the position. Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, performs PM and ensures reliability of a variety of equipment including safety and security equipment, such as alarms, smoke detectors, sprinkler systems, and emergency power; medical gas systems; pipes, plumbing and steam systems; walls, doors and structural framing; locks, door closers and building hardware; pneumatic tube systems; and electrical equipment including panels, lamps, starters, switches and other equipment. 50% Troubleshoots problems to identify cause, repair and report status, recommending solutions as appropriate. Handles trouble calls and dispatches trade or crafts to emergency. Identifies and requisitions parts and materials to perform work. Interprets schematics, blueprints, technical specifications, manufacturer's recommendations/requirements, and MSDS to assure correct and safe installation of systems and equipment. 25% Accurately maintains all required records/documentation, and accurately maintains operating logs, records and readings.
