Duties and Responsibilities- Maintains the safe operation and maintenance of building facilities, electrical and mechanical systems and plumbing
- Performs all aspects of building maintenance including, but not limited to carpentry & related hardware, electrical, interior/structure, plumbing, security related door hardware and proper usage of maintenance tools and equipment
- Performs work assignments received, both verbal and through the work order software system
- Maintains records of work performed using the work order management software system
- Maintains inventory
- Performs work assignments to make campus facilities as safe and secure as possible for all students, staff and faculty
- May, at times, need to assist with snow removal
- Performs other duties as assigned
High school, GED or trade school diploma and three to five years of related experience with all aspects of maintenance of facility and residential buildings required. Experience in an educational facility preferred
Qualifications- Ability to use tools of all trades, including power tools
- Ability to work in high and/or confined spaces
- Ability to carry materials to perform work functions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have knowledge of and proficiency in a variety of areas including electrical, plumbing, carpentry and door lock hardware
- Must supply their own hand tools
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to assist with snow removal and other labor intensive requests
- Must be able to work irregular hours if needed, to perform job requirements
- Must be able to work successfully with other trades to perform job duties
- Must have a current Driver's License in good standing
- Must be in good standing with IUOE Local 399 within 90 days of accepting position and maintain good standing with IUOE Local 399
- Knowledge and proficiency with computers
- Proficiency with MS Office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience with a work order management system preferred
