Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Creates and supports a safe work environment by understanding and following regulatory compliance (OSHA, etc) and company safe practices, and by reinforcing positive safety actions while eliminating unsafe acts/programs.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by maintaining safe operation of equipment, completing preventive maintenance requirements and repair of production & building equipment; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Troubleshoots systems by utilizing electrical testing equipment for basic troubleshooting throughout facility; escalates challenges and difficult problems to more senior maintenance person.
- Locates and corrects sources of problems by observing mechanical and electrical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments; removing defective parts and installing new parts; ensuring adjustments are effective and meet safety requirements.
- Repairs or modifies equipment by welding or soldering at basic level, and escalating challenges and difficult problems to more senior maintenance person.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Keeps building systems ready for use by supporting entire maintenance program; by performing light carpentry and plumbing, as required; by completing preventive maintenance schedules; following policies and procedures; making repairs, and reporting needed changes; by removing ice and snow from walkways and parking lots.
- Provides mechanical maintenance information by updating & maintaining maintenance request system, by acting as resource for related topics.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by communicating clearly with instructions and descriptions of problems, work to be performed, documenting actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Cooperates with company and departments by working the standard shift as well as extra hours, as needed; by working various shifts either temporarily or on a regular basis, to meet organizational demands; by adhering to, and recommending improvements to safety, culture, and operational mission, vision, goals, projects, rules etc.
- Keeps supervisor informed by communicating and documenting performance, activities and non-conformances; by communicating safety, productivity concerns.
- Supports continuous improvement by improving own skills and knowledge, working well individually and in a team environment; recommending improvements to safety, quality, service, and processes.
- Supports company agenda by participating in meetings and activities, participating in customer visits and audits, contributing to team efforts, and providing additional support to Company, as necessary to meet departmental and corporate needs.
- Maintains company reputation by complying with government regulation, preserving proprietary information, and by representing the Company in a professional manner.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and training, maintaining job specific certifications, keeping current on technical information pertaining to specific job; depending on position, participating in professional societies and establishing personal networks.
Working environment: Manufacturing, office, interior & exterior building facility; at times required to be on call 24/7 - pre-arranged by Company and associate.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:- Minimum 3 yrs or related technical school success; experience repairing and maintaining a variety of manufacturing equipment; excellent mechanical repair and troubleshooting.
- Demonstrate ability in - mechanical skills, analytical thinking, trouble-shooting, problem solving, preventive maintenance, and effective communication skills; sincere effort to create safe work environment; ability to enhance interdepartmental relationships; prioritize work load, self-directed, and ability; ability to reply to immediate needs while maintaining progress of departmental, organizational objectives.
- PM planning, implementation and documentation
- Facility maintenance - good building repair experience
- Ability to comprehend and follow through on related projects and initiatives.
- Basic electrical, machinery, hydraulics & pneumatics, welding; strong mechanical aptitude
- Record keeping & organization of prints and revision history; Blueprint reading & comprehension
- Education/Experience- Education is usually obtained from a High School diploma, experience in machine and building maintenance.
- Standing/Sitting for extended periods: 75/25
- Walking/Bending/Stooping: 80/10/10
- Lifting Requirements: 50+ pounds
- Travel by air, rail, auto (5% of time)
- Work in manufacturing area
