As a Maintenance Mechanic 3rd Class, you will carry out our mission to improve the experience of aging together by performing a full range of duties to include minor repairs and routine maintenance.
What will I do as a Maintenance Mechanic 3rd Class?
- Repair, replace, or otherwise improve items of facility equipment. May be required to act as a helper working under the direction of other maintenance staff.
- Assist in the refurbishment of vacant rooms by repairing and replacing furnishings and fixtures. Complete items on inspection sheet to ensure the proper operation of equipment and neat appearance of the resident room.
- Perform general corrective maintenance duties including a variety of general maintenance jobs. Perform exterior grounds work; clean grounds by removing trash and debris. Detect and correct unsafe conditions. Participate in snow/ice removal.
- Comply with all safety programs and procedures. Provide support during emergency disaster situations. Maintain a safe, neat, and productive work environment in all equipment and shop areas. Maintain tools in good working condition; clean tools and returns to proper place. Ensure safety of work area for staff, residents and visitors.
What is required in this position?
- High school diploma is preferred; 1 year technical trade school or equivalent may be substituted for diploma.
- One (1) year general maintenance experience is preferred.
- Entry level skills in several crafts including carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general maintenance.
- Microsoft Office applications and other software applications relating to the operation of the facility.
