DISTRICTWIDE FACILITIES AND MAINTENANCE
Duties:
Under the supervision of the supervisor of maintenance, perform work in the category of: carpentry, plumbing, oil burner repair and trouble shooter, painter, dry wall and spackle, storekeeper, boiler furnace repair, mason and licensed electrician and plumber.
Experience:- Skill in specified trade is prime factor. Skill in one or more of the other trade areas is a requirement.
- Additional skills: to work with carpenter, plumber, electrician or painter, participate in moving stores and equipment, and to aid as necessary in all maintenance department projects.
- Tools to be furnished (large). Individual tools required by the employee, but will be replaced as broken or worn out.
- Car for own transportation required. Valid motor vehicle operator's license also required.
- High school, trade school, apprenticeship, five years satisfactory work experience as a helper in a general plant maintenance situation.
- Personnel must provide references and acceptable evidence that they have performed satisfactorily in the field of their experience.
- Personnel to demonstrate capability to read blue prints, estimating small jobs and "taking off" materials from drawings required for minor jobs.
- Electricians and plumbers must hold a valid license issued by the State or local control boards.
- Ability to get along with people, carry out instructions by maintenance department foreman.
- Ability to make good use of time by planning work, requesting materials and equipment moves so not to delay progress of work.
Days: Monday - Friday (8 hours/day)
Salary: In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement
