Reports to: General Manager
Job Summary:
A Maintenance Manager applies knowledge of engineering principles to organize and supervise maintenance employees to ensure smooth operation of production plant and operations in a turkey processing facility.
Essential Functions:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Able to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, and work orders in the English language. Bilingual ability in both spoken and written Spanish and English is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock and vibration. The duties of this job require a person to stoop, bend, work off of knees, climb ladders and work in high areas up to 130 feet, work in dark areas, and work in confined spaces after being trained to do so. Must be able to climb the ladder and wear fall protection as necessary. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.

Essential Functions:
- Organize employees for daily duties, ensuring efficient allocation of tasks and resources.
- Monitor and record attendance daily, maintaining accurate records.
- Supervise employees throughout the day, overseeing the performance and/or monitoring of general maintenance tasks as designated per company and USDA policies/regulations.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of all equipment to ensure operational readiness and safety.
- Monitor refrigeration equipment, performing repairs and maintenance as needed to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform minor electrical tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Monitor and maintain boiler systems, performing repairs and maintenance as required.
- Assist with new employee training, ensuring they are well-informed of procedures and safety protocols.
- Conduct performance evaluations for maintenance employees, providing feedback and development plans.
- Collaborate with other management personnel and USDA officials to ensure overall plant operations comply with guidelines.
- Uphold the company mission statement by supplying safe, high-quality turkey products consistently.
- Oversee and manage vendor relations to ensure optimal performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead and coordinate maintenance project management activities, ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Develop and implement strategic plans for future automation efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
- Follow and adhere to workplace safety policies and procedures established by the company.
- Communicate, at a high level, with plant operations to ensure the machinery and equipment operate safely and efficiently.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
- Ability to direct clearly and concisely with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Any other duties are assigned at management's discretion.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an engineer in a related industry
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Knowledge of production line operations and equipment.
- Manual dexterity required.
- Possess or ability to obtain First Class Boiler B License.
- Good communication and leadership skills.

- Ability to have a varied degree range of motion while doing any various line positions. Exposure to hands, writs, arms, shoulders, back and fingers fatigue.
- Willingness to use, instruct and monitor use of company designated personal protective equipment and follow company animal welfare guidelines.
- Ability to safely and properly operate power tools, hand tools, hoists etc.
- Ability to work in a standing position for periods of 3-4 hours per session.
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a fast- paced environment and accountable to maintain punctual and good attendance for scheduled work hours.
- Employees must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)
