Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Manager will oversee the day-to-day activities of the maintenance department, providing leadership, technical support, and innovative solutions to maximize efficiencies and minimize downtime. This role will focus on developing and implementing maintenance strategies, as well as fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the department.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor both union and non-union departmental staff, ensuring a supportive and collaborative work environment.
- Fully implement and optimize the new Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to streamline maintenance processes.
- Develop and execute reliability strategies, including preventive/predictive maintenance, work order systems, critical parts inventory management, and maintenance skill development.
- Provide technical support to production departments, ensuring all resources align with production requirements and timelines.
- Monitor and manage departmental spending, purchasing activities, and budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Oversee the management of external maintenance resources, such as monthly contracts, contractors, and utility services, ensuring quality and efficiency.
- Ensure all site facilities are maintained in optimal condition and meet health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Contribute as a key team member of the Plant Operations Management team, collaborating on broader operational strategies and goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field.
- Preferred 10+ years of leadership experience in a similar role, with a proven ability to implement reliability strategies.
- Detail-oriented, technically proficient, highly organized, and self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience interpreting electrical, hydraulic prints, and systems. Knowledge of extrusion equipment and thermoforming is a plus.
- Proficient in PC use, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and CAD software.
