Sterling Engineering is looking for an Maintenance Manager for a growing manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions with a client of ours Near Melrose Park, IL. Job Duties:

Supervise and provide daily guidance to Maintenance shift personnel.
Communicate business and maintenance issues to department personnel.
Interpret and enforce company policies and professional standards.
Collaborate with team to identify and solve maintenance issues (short- and long-term).
Interact with other departments and support groups.
Suggest improvements in working conditions and equipment usage to increase efficiency.
Manage and complete technical projects as needed (from Maintenance Project List).
Develop team members’ skills to enhance efficiency.
Analyze and resolve work problems; assist workers in problem-solving.
Implement plans to motivate team to meet goals.
Support improvements in Troubleshooting, Preventive Maintenance, and Training.
Supervise in accordance with policies and laws (hiring, training, performance appraisals, discipline, resolving issues).

Qualifications:

Preferred: College degree in Business Admin, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; lean certification; 2 years of relevant experience.
Supervisory, lean, and ISO experience a plus; plastics industry preferred.
Additional education in quality, safety, or mechanical/electrical areas preferred.
Preferred certifications: Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, ASQ Quality Engineering, Lean Manufacturing.
Experience with plastic extrusion/injection molding is preferred.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, people-oriented environment.
Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting.
