Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Manager is based out of USALCOs La Porte production facility, located at 9401 Strang Road, La Porte, TX 77571. The individual in this position will be working a day-based M-F schedule but is expected to be on-call as needed after hours if urgent business needs arise.
The individual in this role will report directly to the La Porte Plant Manager, and is a member of the site leadership team supporting production assets at the La Porte site. The Maintenance Manager is expected to train and supervise employees within the Maintenance department at the La Porte site and ensure the operational efficiency and reliability of electrical and mechanical equipment. The individual in this role is also expected to be able to collaborate effectively with other functions on site (Production, Logistics, etc.) to ensure that the goals and priorities of the Maintenance organization are in-line with the goals of the site.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision and development of an hourly Maintenance staff consisting of mechanics and I&E technicians.
- Leadership of daily and weekly maintenance planning and scheduling processes, ensuring that maintenance priorities align with site needs.
- Development and execution of site preventative maintenance strategy and goals.
- Own and manage the existing Work Management Process (WMP) for the site and make improvements to the system as necessary.
- Own and manage Maintenance KPIs for the site, such as time to close work orders, MTBF, OEE, etc. and be able to generate reports and presentations communicating key improvements.
- Other activities directed by supervision
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-10 years (or more) of experience in Maintenance or Operations in an industrial manufacturing setting, with working knowledge of common process equipment including: rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, blowers, etc.), manual and actuated valves, DCS/control systems, tanks, etc.
- Desire to add value in a team-based manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications
- Willing to be on call and meet call-out standards to respond to site responsibilities and emergencies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical or Chemical) from an accredited university
- 1-2 years (or more) of experience in Maintenance or Operations leadership at an industrial manufacturing facility
- Experience using ERP systems (SAP or other) and implementing a Maintenance planning/scheduling process
- Experience with developing and evaluating preventative maintenance strategies
- Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and how mechanical integrity and quality control link to developing an inspection strategy
- Experience with Lean/Continuous Improvement processes/methods (5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
