Summary:
Responsible for overseeing maintenance staff and ensuring the efficient operation of facility systems and equipment. Key duties include scheduling and performing routine maintenance, managing repair projects, conducting inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
The manager will also train and mentor maintenance personnel, maintain inventory of supplies, and develop maintenance procedures to enhance operational efficiency. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential for success in this role. Uphold and conform to all safety, GMPs, and Food Safety policies.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manages and directs the activities of the Maintenance Worker functions.
- Directs staff job results by hiring, coaching, training, counseling, and disciplining employees, and planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, plans, and procedures to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
- Ensure that maintenance activities meet quality and safety standards, and that all regulatory requirements are met.
- Prepares departmental budget as well as schedules required maintenance purchases, remodeling and special projects.
- Directs department engaged in inspection and repair of equipment, electrical, plumbing, masonry, painting and carpentry work.
- Develops, evaluates and maintains a preventative maintenance program.
- Manage maintenance inventory, including parts, supplies, and equipment.
- Assures that outside services are completed in accordance with the issued or understood statement of work orders.
- Conducts annual assessment of the facility to identify safety issues or items that need to be repaired.
- Inspects completed work for adherence to blueprints and other specifications.
- Maintains detailed records and prepares communications as needed.
- Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, vendors and the public.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
- Responsible for reporting food safety, quality or food defense concerns to the QA Manager.
- Conforms and ensures compliance with all Safety, GMP’s, health code regulations and Food Safety Policies.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in Industrial Maintenance, 3+ years supervisory/management experience
- Food Industry experience a plus
- Multi craft experience, Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatics
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, will consider experience in lieu of.
