Schedule:Monday - Friday: 6:30am-5:00pm| Saturdays 7:00am 1:00 pm as needed
Pay Range:$120,000 - $165,000

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilledHeavy Equipment Maintenance Managerto oversee all aspects of equipment maintenance within our mining and construction environment. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, and performance of our machinery and facilities, optimizing uptime and productivity while adhering to strict safety and regulatory standards. This position reports to the COO.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage a team of field service mechanics, maintenance technicians, and support staff while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance, coaching, and training to develop the skills and expertise of maintenance personnel.
- Coordinate with other departments to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize downtime disruptions.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs for all mining and construction equipment, including heavy machinery, vehicles, and facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections, diagnose mechanical issues, and schedule repairs and replacements as needed to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Utilize predictive maintenance techniques, such as condition monitoring and data analysis, to identify potential failures and address them proactively.
Safety and Compliance:
- Uphold strict adherence to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards, promoting a zero-incident culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures to mitigate hazards and improve workplace safety.
Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, forecasting expenses, and optimizing resource allocation to achieve cost-effective maintenance solutions.
- Source and procure necessary parts, tools, and equipment, maintaining inventory levels and negotiating contracts with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-efficient maintenance operations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency gains, and cost reduction through regular performance analysis and benchmarking against industry best practices.
- Implement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and increase overall operational efficiency, driving continuous improvement across the maintenance function.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 2 years' experience working with vendors.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience supervising employees, preferably in a maintenance shop setting.
- Proven experience 5 to 7 years in maintenance management within the mining, construction, or heavy equipment industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex diesel equipment issues.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team.
- Sound understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements in a mining and construction environment.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools for scheduling, inventory control, and performance tracking
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Google.
- Ability to meet the schedule requirements and maintain reliable attendance.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- 2 years of CMMS experience
- Valid Driver"s License required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Must comply with background check and Drug-free Workplace Policy.
- Ability to perform limited physical tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs.
