Job Overview:
Mabe Trucking Company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair operations for our fleet of tractor-trailer trucks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring our fleet remains in optimal condition, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.
This is a full-time position based in Eden, NC. As a Maintenance Manager, you will lead a team of skilled technicians, develop maintenance schedules, and drive improvements in the efficiency and performance of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily maintenance and repair of the company’s fleet of tractor-trailer trucks, ensuring they operate at peak performance.
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring quality work, safety standards, and timely completion of repairs.
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues, including engine, transmission, brake systems, HVAC, and suspension.
- Maintain and manage accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, inspections, and DOT compliance documentation.
- Ensure fleet vehicles comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
- Monitor and control maintenance costs, including labor and parts, while ensuring operational efficiency.
- Review and approve maintenance work orders, ensuring all necessary repairs and services are completed on time.
- Schedule work and prioritize tasks to minimize vehicle downtime and ensure fleet availability for operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager or in a similar role within the trucking or fleet management industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of tractor-trailer trucks, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and diagnostic tools for fleet vehicles.
- Solid leadership skills and experience managing a team of technicians in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and vehicle inspection requirements.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems quickly.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software or fleet tracking systems.
