Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Reports To: General Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Overall Responsibility
This role involves performing maintenance and repairs on production machines while adhering to established food safety standards.
Core Job Duties
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Although the job is only 10% electrical, 90% of the hiring requirement is electrical knowledge.
- Order replacement parts, tools, and equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with the Plant Manager, Sanitation Manager, and General Manager to address employee conflicts and concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Ensure the plant is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
- Communicate all safety and sanitation concerns to the Plant Manager.
- Ensure all team members report to work on time, in a clean and complete uniform, and maintain good personal hygiene.
- Implement and maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, SOPs, SSOPs, and safety guidelines throughout the production shift.
- Execute Preventative Maintenance as required by customers.
- Develop, implement, and monitor all company policies and procedures as outlined in the policy manuals, making adjustments as required by internal or external audits.
- Accurately record data as required.
- Practice Food Safety Culture consistently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements
- Strong electrical knowledge and ability to read schematics.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and maintain a positive outlook.
- Ability to collaborate with other maintenance personnel and Plant Management to maintain equipment and Quality system documentation.
- Ability to document maintenance work performed and maintain related records.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to lead and motivate 1-2 team members.
- Ability to use calibration equipment accurately to verify and validate system processes.
- Good computer, communication, interpersonal, leadership, and teambuilding skills.
Education/Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience with machinery and electrical controls.
- Ability to read and write English; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment
This job operates in a manufacturing environment with normal temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees inside an air-conditioned building. There may be minor smoke/smell from ovens and dryers and contact with food allergens like wheat, egg, soy, milk, peanuts, and tree nuts. Occasionally required to enter a walk-in cooler or freezer with temperatures between 0 to 40 degrees.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Stooping and bending may be below the knees, and lifting and reaching may be above shoulders. Continuous standing and walking. Grasping, pushing, and pulling as needed.
