We are looking for a Maintenance Manager with a background in plastic manufacturing. PVC extrusion is a plus but considering all plastics experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for maintenance in the plant, as well as providing technical and technological oversight for other locations. This is a great opportunity to join a growing, profitable and well-funded organization committed to customer service and to their employees.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure safety is of paramount importance to all in the Maintenance Area, and convey that message throughout all departments as a part of the corporate culture.
- Implement best practices across all plants for maintenance and processing.
- Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and perpetuate a Team atmosphere in the Maintenance department.
- Through consensus, establish team goals and provide leadership and mentoring to maintenance leads, technicians and sub-contractors to achieve maintenance objectives.
- Help the Maintenance Technicians troubleshoot problems, implement solutions, and dig with your team to get problems solved.
- Create/Review SOP’s, Preventive/Predictive Maintenance Plans.
- Monitor Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual reports, managing performance to budget, including spare parts, purchases and all area costs.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and maintenance capital and expenditures and make sure financial constraints are met.
- Manage vendor/contractor proposals, expenditures and work being done.
- Training, Staffing, and development of Maintenance department personnel.
- Develop and review goals/targets performance, quarterly, and provide an appraisal for each salaried of maintenance employee, yearly.
- Spare parts and maintenance parts.
- Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Review and approve capital equipment and plant change specifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or 10-15 years of Maintenance Management experience.
- Significant Hands-On maintenance experience in the areas of:
- Extruded products such as sheet, films,profile extrusion, etc.
- Mechanical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, welding, structures, plant equipment, air compressors, chillers, etc.)
- Electrical Systems (drives, servos, motors, plant electrical, switchgear, control panels)
- Troubleshooting Electronics (overview understanding of PLC’s, sensors – no programming)
- Troubleshooting Automation (Robotics and Automated Assembly). Again no programming.
- Plant (roofing, HVAC)
- Grounds: (Lawn/Landscape parking areas, lighting).
- 5 years of supervision and/or management experience (direct reports) with strong training skills, a coaching / mentoring style of management.
- Strong knowledge of Preventative and possibly Predictive Maintenance.
- MUST BE hands-on, and willing to help technicians troubleshoot and be a strong, goal-setting manager.
- Professional manager with outstanding team building skills.
