The Maintenance Inventory Clerk will assist the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler in coordinating inventory efforts to maximize efficiency in the department. The Inventory Clerk is responsible for all activities occurring inclusive of physical material movement and tracking, documentation management, inventory accuracy and reporting, receiving, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains spare parts service level, inventory turns, inventory accuracy
- Develops action plans with deadlines to achieve the goals set forth by management and track progress on a regular basis.
- Utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to assist with solving inventory issues, reducing cost, increasing machine uptime and reliability, and providing management and employees with the information required for them to do their job.
- Assists in establishing and maintaining policies and procedures for the stock room area in accordance with the industrial manufacturing standards.
- Engages in all aspects of safety, to include food safety, with employees, contractors and vendors.
- Monitors security of the stockroom and/or tool room.
- Performs Cycle Counts of stock items as required.
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of stock room consistent with industry standards.
- Responsible for all outgoing shipments from the maintenance department including bill of ladings, scheduling pick-ups, and proper packing of the shipment.
- Works to maintain and improve on the quality, legality and safety of each product and the processes used in their manufacture. Responsible for keeping assigned work area clean and tidy at all times and reporting any potential contamination and suspicious activity to a Supervisor immediately.
- Supervises the dispensing of parts for job kitting
- Quality inspects the parts as received
- Helps manage the spare parts for Capex inventory
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School degree or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Direct knowledge from procurement to point of use in manufacturing.
- Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
- Must possess (or have the ability to get) an industrial lift license
- Proficient use of Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, the Internet, and CMMS.
- A hands-on knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) spare parts.
- Working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in food manufacturing and how it relates to maintenance and a demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations.
- Must be fluent in reading /writing of the English language.
- Working knowledge of hazardous chemicals and materials and the proper storage and disposal of such items
