FACILITY MAINTENANCE TECH
Goya Foods, Inc., leader in the food industry, based in Secaucus, New Jersey is seeking a Facility Maintenance Tech. to join our Maintenance team.
Responsibilities:
- Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on facilities and infrastructure to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime. This includes inspecting, cleaning, and performing minor repairs as needed, such as painting, floor patching, ceiling tile, power washing, tile work floor and wall and changing fixtures, etc.
- Repairs: repair issues promptly to prevent disruptions to production processes. Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repairs when necessary. Some knowledge of electrical, plumbing and electronics.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to address potential issues before they escalate. Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and perform regular inspections to identify areas of improvement.
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly to emergency maintenance situations such as facility damage. Take immediate action to minimize the impact on operations and employee safety. In addition, must be available to come in to help with the snow removal.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards. Maintain a safe working environment by identifying potential hazards and taking corrective actions.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory levels for maintenance supplies, tools, and spare parts. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure a steady supply of necessary items.
- Communication: Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and scheduled downtime. Provide timely updates on maintenance status and recommendations for process improvements.
- Facility Upgrades: Assist in the planning and execution of facility upgrades, installations, and modifications. Work closely with engineers and operations teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance tasks, repairs, and upgrades. Generate reports on maintenance activities and performance indicators.
- Training: Participate in training programs to stay current with new maintenance techniques, technologies, and safety protocols, also OSHA.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or trade school training in a relevant field preferred.
- Proven experience in facility maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of facility-related issues. Electrical, plumbing and electronics.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, procedures, and best practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using maintenance tools, equipment, and software.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends, evenings, or overtime as needed.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in various conditions.
- Have forklift, walkie rider and scissor lift certification a plus or the Company will train.
Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, skill set, experience, qualifications, education, and other job-related reasons.
Good Faith Estimate of Salary Range: $20 - $24 per hour.
