Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role
- This position is for an experienced maintenance engineer (ME) who will lead a team of MEs to develop maintenance concepts, publications source data and LSAR for all tracked vehicles. This position will also be responsible for the oversight of technical interface with external and internal customers for all maintenance engineering issues relating to tracked vehicle projects performed at SHC.
- Detailed responsibilities include:
- Lead a group of Maintenance Engineers, provisioners and RPSTL leads to develop all contract deliverables on or below budget and on or ahead of schedule.
- Interface with design engineers, Integrated Logistics Support Managers (ILSM), and other functional organizations to ensure logistics, supportability and maintainability issues are satisfied.
- Perform supportability analysis and maintenance task analysis.
- Review drawings, Change Requests (CR), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), computer models and other technical documentation to identify maintenance and supply support requirements for the design.
- Establish the development, maintenance, and update of LSAR in accordance with GEIA-STE-0007 and MIL-STD-1388-2B using Slicwave.
- Develop Maintenance Engineering source data used in the creation of Field Maintenance
- Technical Manuals, Modification Work Orders (MWO), National Maintenance Work Requirements (NMWR), and other publications.
- Assess emerging designs for requirements compliance and recommend design alternatives to enhance supportability and maintainability.
- Conduct detailed task analysis as part of the Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) process to identify resources required to maintain and support the design.
- Document results of the detailed task analysis in the Logistic Support Analysis Record (LSAR) database.
- Translate engineering and other technical information into source data in support of ILS products development.
- Support/assist the ILS products developers utilizing source data provided.
- Support Logistic Demonstrations and ILS products validation/verification efforts as required.
- Support field test activities, track and document test incidents and provide close out reports as required.
Qualifications Sought
- The Tracked Vehicle Maintenance Engineering Lead must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Engineering Technology, Engineering, or business-related fields required. Other degrees considered with related experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience in the maintenance of ground combat vehicles.
- Thorough working knowledge of MIL-STD-1388-2B and GEIA-STD-0007.
- 10 years of experience with LSA/LSAR and Slicwave required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Special Tools and Test Equipment (STTE).
- Thorough working knowledge of U.S. Army logistics support structure, policies and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (oral and written) required.
- Motivation to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Personal computer skills, expertise with use of Teamcenter, CAD models (CREO, PRO-E, Product View) for analysis and source data development and proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Thorough knowledge of the Problem Reporting process and Field Problem Review Board (FPRB).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Engineering Design Review Process including the development of required Maintenance Engineering artifacts including FMECA, MTL and RCM.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Validation/Verification process.
- Experienced in developing proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOE).
- Experienced in Earned Value (EVC).
- Experience with National Maintenance Work Requirements (NMWR) analysis and Modification
- Work Order (MWO) document development a plus. Experience with assembly/disassembly of components desired.
- Occasional weekday and/or weekend overtime required.
